Kunstenaarsduo Tom Bekkers en Querine van der Weijde vormen samen Studio Wantij. Een wantij is een plek waar twee vloedstromen samenkomen – een plek zonder duidelijke scheidslijn, die soms land is en soms zee. Deze grensvervagende manier van denken staat centraal in hun werk. Met hun kinetische installaties en videowerk bieden ze nieuwe perspectieven die eer doen aan de meerstemmigheid van een plek. Zo maken ze complexe ecologische thema’s inzichtelijk en invoelbaar.

Artist duo Tom Bekkers and Quérine van der Weijde form Studio Wantij together. A wantij is a place where two flood streams meet—a place without clear boundaries, that is sometimes land and sometimes sea. This boundary-dissolving way of thinking is central to their work. Through their kinetic installations and video work, they offer new perspectives that honor the polyphony of a place. This way, they make complex ecological themes both visible and emotionally tangible.
